Parish Finance Council

The parish finance council is a consultative body that advises the pastor and financial matters related to Saint Michaels. The relationship between the pastor and the council are one of support and collaboration. Responsibilities of Saint Michael's finance council include:

Approve annual budgets. Review annual diocesan financial reports. Monitor financial trends at Saint Michael's. Prepare and publish an annual financial report to the St. Michael's Parish.

Members of the parish finance council are elected or appointed by the pastor for a renewable four-year term. The pastor and the cantor are ex-officio members.

Parish Pastoral Council

The parish pastoral council can be described as a body within the church that offers leadership to the life of the parish. Councils demonstrate characteristics that reflect the leadership model of servant leadership, embracing the example, given by Jesus at the last supper. The key functions of the counselor described as:

To assist the apostolic work of the church by promoting Christian formation of people, and providing for them, the means to achieve this To carefully evaluate information, gathered in order to contribute towards the making of decisions that reflect the values of the gospel and the teachings of the church To promote courses of study and reflection in any other initiatives, which develop an understanding of the apostolate of the ladies, so that they can carry out their mission to the world at the parish level and beyond to seek out and respond to the needs of the people in the parish and beyond, and to involve the whole parish and the response of those needs. To set long-term and short-term pastoral goals for the parish. To develop a sense of church beyond parish boundaries, and to stimulate a Christian response to local issues and the problems confronting our world. To promote communications between all members sectors in organizations of the parish in a wider community. To cooperate and communicate with diocesan organizations into support and promote their activities and services of these organizations.

The election for both councils will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024. The nominations sheet are located in the vestibule. If you would like to volunteer for these councils, please sign up. If you would like to nominate nominate a person from Saint Michael's Parish, you must ask that parishioner if he or she wants to be nominated.
